Mr Magoo ha ospitato per anni alcuni tra i migliori musicisti Blues e Jazz italiani e internazionali, tra cui Alex Britti.

Hello to everyone at Pub Mr. Magoo in Isernia Italy from Adagio Farm, a horse retirement farm in the USA.  Adagio Farm is pleased to have Giulio Pirone and the Pub as our international partner in friendship.  The story of how this friendship was formed dates back to 1979, when Giulio lived in the US.  He befriended the late Ruthie Schrieb. who worked with Giulio at a restaurant in Princeton, NJ.  Ruthie was my best and lifelong friend.  She passed away in 2006, and yet her memory has helped to forge friendships even after her passing.  Ruthie was a brilliant person - a classical pianist, a loving mother, and talented engineer who worked on space-bound satellites.  Most of all, Ruthie was a wonderful friend.  The partnership between Pub Mr. Magoo and Adagio Farm has arisen in mutual love and in remembrance of our dear beloved Ruthie. 

Adagio Farm is best known for our work with Ms. Priscilla Presley, former wife of the late Mr. Elvis Presley.  Ms. Presley adopted one of our rescue horses, Max, in January of 2008.  Max was rescued from horse slaughter.  He now lives at Graceland, Elvis Presley's legendary home in Memphis, Tennessee.  Max amuses Elvis fans daily with his coltish antics, and he will live out his natural life with the best of care and at Graceland.

Monroe Electra

Love Child of Prancer and that Scoundrel Merlin
(these two not related, so the baby is genetically sound)
Born in Maine at a broodmare farm, under excellent care
with the guidance and help of experienced equine midwives
Tuesday, 28 October 2008 at 6:53 am.
Sex:  A filly
Weight:  Robust and large. Very beautiful
Color:  She has Merlin’s very dark brown, almost black color.  No white markings at all.
A very lovely head, like Merlin’s. She is striking.
Prancer:  Is just fine!  She is an outstanding mother,
as we have seen with her other children Vixen and Louden.
Details:  Monroe is a vibrant baby. After birth at 6:53, she was standing up by 7:38.  She had her first drink of mother’s milk by 8:17, though it took a few more hours for her to really understand how to nurse successfully. Monroe stays close to her mom when outside in the big world.  She is a smart baby.  She is strong.  She is also a wanted horse born into this world and will always be cared for properly .  She will grow up with lots of gentle human handling, already begun with some imprinting work.  She will never have a need for fear of humans.  She will always be protected, her every need met.

Her name, Monroe, was chosen for her by our patroness Priscilla Presley, who saw Monroe on streaming video shortly after birth. Monroe also has a middle name, Electra, chosen by our international friend Giulio, in Italy.

 

We are thrilled she is here.  She is loved.
